Welcome to Pressyo - we hope you enjoy using our site as much as we did making it.

Pressyo is a revolutionary new way to sort news and information - and we hope it will change the way you use the Internet.

First Steps

First things first - you have to let Pressyo know who you are. Registering an account and logging in are among the most important tasks - if you're here, chances are you've already registered, so log into Pressyo by typing in your e-mail and password at the top of the site:

Pressyo's Functions

Overview

Pressyo's main function is to deliver good information. How do we achieve that? Firstly, the system needs to know what is good information and what is not. And because computers are stupid, we rely on you, dear human readers (you are human, aren't you?) to tell the system. Unlike many popular systems out there - like Digg, Reddit, Mixx and Propeller - all of which allows users to vote on whether a story is good or not, we use a slightly different system, namely, a vote-trading scheme.

There are many academic reasons why we chose to use a vote-trading scheme, but the basics of it is the users buy and sell the rights to vote of a particular story or entry.

Users tell the system how much a story is worth by setting a price on their votes. For example, if a user thinks a story is very awesome, the user would be prepared to pay an amount to vote on that story. Similarly, if a user thinks a story could be worth very much, he/she would set a higher price when he/she sells it.

Uh-oh, Buying and Selling Means Money, Right?

So, the main mechanic of Pressyo is through buying and selling. But wait! Pressyo does not use real money. We use a form of internal currency known as Yos. Depending on your physical location, it could be presented to you in either $ or ¥. Do not worry, we will not ask you to take out your wallets.

Submitting New Stories

Right. Now that you've got an overview of how Pressyo works, let's start with the first function that you can use - Submitting a story.

The most important function of Pressyo is delivering news and information. However, there's only so many of us, so we need you to help us by submitting news, stories and other things. Click on 'Submit new' button to bring up the screen below:

Fill in the information into the form - and click submit - it's that easy! Pressyo automatically buys a unit of stock in the story you submitted - this indirectly means that submitting a story costs money - so don't submit just anything - submit something you know people will appreciate (and your stock price will too!)

Your Portfolio

Click on your profile (its next to the Pressyo logo) to get the screen below:

As you can see - Pressyo tracks your every purchase - what you bought, how many you bought and even at what price you bought it. It's even smart enough to group different purchases of the same stock at the same price together.

Selling

After every entry is a sell link - click it to bring up

Fill in how many units you want to sell - and at how much. After you click sell - your stock gets listed on the stock listing for that story for other people to buy

Buying

The stock listing is where you can buy stock. It will list all available shares for a particular story - in this case, there are two listings: the shares you just listed for sale and another listing for 10 $1 stocks from someone else.

Buying is simply accomplished by clicking the Buy link. Clicking the Buy link automatically purchases one of the shares from that specific listing at that particular price.

You can't buy your own stock - and Pressyo tells you which listing is yours so you don't have to make the error of trying to buy your own stock.

Quick Buy and Quick Sell

You might notice every story has a buy it link, sell it link and a price to the left of it. If you click this 'Buy it' link, Pressyo will try its best to buy the stock at the price listed, and similarly, if you click the 'Sell it' link, Pressyo will try its best to sell the stock at the price listed.

Although this is preferable and significantly less complicated than manually setting prices, our tests have shown that you'd make more money if you manually set your sell prices and if you troll the stock listing for bargain stocks. Essentially, the quick buy and quick sell will not make you much money, but manually setting prices will

Basic Strategy

Strategy and timing is of the essence if you don't want to run out of money and wait for charity to come along and help you out. Buying low and selling high is the key to keeping your pockets stuffed. Here's a few tips to keep yourself in the green:

Commenting

Of course, what fun is playing the stock market all day? Join the fun - discuss and comment on stories with other people like you on the comments page!

Anything goes - just don't be rude or obscene. We don't like having to remove your opinions - and don't give us a reason to.

Finally, Pressyo is a fun source of deliverying good information, and we hope you have fun with it
